Jorginho joined Chelsea in a £57 million deal from Napoli in the summer but the Italy international had attracted interest from several clubs around Europe.

But the 26-year-old was keep to link back up with Maurizio Sarri after thriving in his system at Napoli.

‘There had been calls from Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea,’ Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos told ESPN Brasil.

‘In a way, all the great English clubs saw Jorginho because he was already in the Italian team.

‘Jorginho still had two years of contract and the last word was from Napoli.

‘In that moment, the best deal for Napoli was Chelsea.

‘It was not only the financial proposal, but also the power and the will of Napoli weighed heavily, who did not want to sell him because they would have to invest a lot to get a replacement.

‘It would not be an immediate replacement.’

Chelsea would ideally like to agree a fee with the Bundesliga giants now and the deal would allow Pulisic to stay at the club for the remainder of the season.

Pulisic feels his performances warrant a big-money move and is refusing to discuss an extension, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2020.

While United did not concede this weekend, they were held to a goalless draw at home by struggling Crystal Palace.

Following the disappointing performance, Mourinho said: ‘You must play with brain and also with heart and I think not enough heart.

‘We didn’t have that intensity that in my opinion is basically related with your brain, with your heart.

‘There are games that are special games and not just one more, and this was a special game.

‘It was the first of eight Premier League games until the end of December and a game we needed to win, and it was not enough from the heart.’

Hazard, 27, has developed into one of the best players in the world at Chelsea and is enjoying a fine run for club and country.

Earlier in the season, the Belgian star reiterated his desire to one day play for Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid.

Hazard says he has been in talks with PSG in the past but ruled out the prospect of ever joining the club.

‘I’ve had contact with PSG, but it did not tempt me,’ he added. ‘I have always said that if I came back to Ligue 1 it would be to Lille.’
