The 29-year-old only joined Besiktas in January but a string of impressive performances at the 2018 World Cup for Croatia have seen him linked with a big-money move this summer.

Reports suggest Liverpool have already lodged a bid for Vida and Arsenal are also understood to be weighing up an offer for the experienced centre-back before the transfer window closes.

Asked about the rumours, Vida told Haber 1903: ‘I am always dreaming to play in the Premier League.

‘I do not know if the proposals will come again in this period. I would like [Besiktas] to make it easy for me.’

Liverpool urged to sign Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey ahead of Chelsea before transfer deadline

Chelsea are said to be favourites to sign Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey (Picture: Getty)Liverpool have been urged to sign Aaron Ramsey as speculation continues to grow over the Arsenal midfielder’s future.

Ramsey has emerged as a key player for the Gunners since signing from Cardiff City a decade ago, playing a huge role in Arsenal’s three FA Cup triumphs.

The Gunners want to secure Ramsey on a new long-term contract but talks have stalled and he could leave on a free transfer next summer.

More: Football

Recent reports say Chelsea are preparing to submit an official offer for Ramsey, with the west London club hopeful of striking a deal on deadline day.

But Dean Saunders, the Wales legend who enjoyed spells at Derby County, Aston Villa and Liverpool, wants to see the Reds make a move of their own.

He told the Liverpool ECHO: ‘When you first said it, my reaction was “it will make them stronger, having Ramsey in the squad”.

‘He covers more ground than everyone almost every week, and he scores goals and makes goals; he’s a good footballer with a good brain.

‘I think Aaron Ramsey will make Liverpool stronger. I think he’d be a great signing for Liverpool.

‘If Liverpool sign him, they definitely get stronger. What a midfield that would be – Ramsey, Keita and Fabinho.’

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already signed four first-team players this summer, with Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Alisson all arriving through the doors at Anfield.

On the prospect of more signings before the summer window closes, Klopp said on Saturday: ‘We will see what happens.

‘I cannot kill your D-day show, people sit there in front of the television all day waiting.

‘If any player from my team is available, then in every other situation in my life as a manager I would have bought all of them, to be honest.

‘They are all fantastic boys, they are able to play fantastic football.’

Arsenal legend Robert Pires urges Liverpool to sign France star Nabil Fekir

Lyon star Nabil Fekir was on the verge of joining Liverpool earlier in the summer (Picture: Getty)Robert Pires has urged Liverpool to revive their interest in France star Nabil Fekir before the transfer window closes next week.

Jurgen Klopp was close to securing a deal for Fekir earlier in the summer and the midfielder even underwent a medical with Liverpool.

But the proposed £53million switch to Merseyside fell through after Liverpool became concerned by a historic injury and asked Lyon to reduce the fee.

More: Football

Liverpool have enjoyed a productive transfer window, signing Fabinho, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri, and Klopp has said the club’s spending may be over for the summer.

But Arsenal and France legend Pires believes Liverpool should revive their interest in Fekir and try to land a last-ditch deal for the talented midfielder.

‘Fekir would be a good fit for the Premier League and a great signing for Liverpool,’ Pires told bwin.

Jurgen Klopp has enjoyed a productive summer transfer window (Picture: Getty)‘I don’t know why the deal broke down at the medical earlier this summer, but Fekir is a great player and would be a good signing for Liverpool.’

Fekir played all but one of France’s World Cup games as Didier Deschamps’ side won the tournament in fine style, beating Croatia in the final.

France won their first World Cup 20 years ago and Pires was reluctant to say which team was the best.

‘France’s 1998 and 2018 World Cup-winning teams are very different,’ he added. ‘The 1998 team had a more experienced and an older squad compared to now.

‘They play a new model of football now with this generation of football.

‘When France won in 1998, experience was the most important thing but now that is not enough and you need young players with good quality to win.’

Ousmane Dembele puts Arsenal and Chelsea on red alert after changing transfer stance

Ousmane Dembele could leave Spain this summer (Picture: Avalon.red)Ousmane Dembele is reportedly ready to leave Barcelona this summer after learning the Catalan giants had signed Brazilian Malcom.

Barcelona completed the £37million transfer deal for the Bordeaux forward on Wednesday and Malcom has now passed his medical.

Dembele has been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea this summer, but it seemed all hope of a deal for the France international was doomed as the club did not want to sell and the attacker was not keen on a switch.

However, Dembele was upset to hear about Barcelona’s new addition as Malcom is a similar age and prefers to play on the right wing.

That position puts Malcom in direct competition with Dembele, who also likes to play on the right, but can operate on either side of attack or behind the striker.

Dembele is now exploring his options, according to Cope, which opens the door for his suitors to start making moves for his services.

Brazil outlet Esporte claim Arsenal and Liverpool made contact with Bernard’s team earlier this summer, but have failed to return with a concrete offer.

Bernard is unsure whether to wait and see if the Premier League duo reestablish contact or whether to begin serious talks with West Ham.

Liverpool and Arsenal transfer target Gelson Martins not joining Benfica, says agent

Gelson Martins is a free agent this summer (Picture: Getty)Gelson Martins will not be signing for Benfica this summer, according to the forward’s agent.

The 23-year-old is a free agent this summer after terminating his contract with Sporting Lisbon due to safety concerns.

Sporting players were attacked at a training session at the end of last season and Martins was among a host of first-team stars to quit the club as a result.

More: Football

Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with a transfer move for Martins in the last 12 months, and the Gunners reportedly had an offer turned down for the attacker in January.

Recent reports claimed Martins was close to a switch to Sporting’s league rivals Benfica, but those rumours have now been dismissed by his agent.

‘Being the agent of Gelson Martins, I have as a top priority his tranquility, and maximum concentration to be able to do what he knows, professional football,’ Ulisses Santos wrote on Facebook.

‘For this reason, and considering the sports media agenda has been very busy around his future, I come to inform you that Martins’ next club will not be SL Benfica.’

The news will come as a boost to Liverpool and Arsenal who could snap Martins up on a free.

Liverpool considered a club-record move for Martins last summer before deciding to go all out on signing Mohamed Salah.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery ‘loves’ Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez but faces competition from Chelsea and Liverpool

A number of Premier League clubs are monitoring Lucas Vazquez (Picture: Getty)Unai Emery ‘loves’ Real Madrid and Spain star Lucas Vazquez but will face competition from Chelsea and Liverpool if he tries to bring him to Arsenal.

Spanish outlet Marca say a number of Premier League clubs have expressed interest in signing Vazquez, who is currently in Russia competing in the World Cup.

Emery has made two signings since replacing Arsene Wenger in the Emirates hot-seat, with goalkeeper Bernd Leno following Stephan Lichtsteiner to north London last month.

More: Football

But the former Paris-Saint Germain manager is keen to make the squad his own with a few more signings and is said to be a huge admirer of Vazquez.

Vazquez has been at Real Madrid for over a decade and played more than 50 games last season as the club won the Champions League.

His performances have caught the attention of a number of teams, with Marca suggesting Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have also registered interest.

AC Milan have held interest in Vazquez for some time but the 26-year-old is not believed to be interested in joining the Italian club.

For the time being, Real Madrid’s talented winger is focusing on the World Cup and his performances for Spain, who face hosts Russia in the last-16 on Sunday.

Spain finished top of Group B despite drawing to Portugal and Morocco and only narrowly beating Iran.

Kylian Mbappe reminds Jamie Carragher of the time he was destroyed by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry

Kylian Mbappe won France a first half penalty against Argentina (Picture: Getty)Kylian Mbappe has been drawing comparisons with Thierry Henry ever since he broke into Monaco’s first team and it’s not difficult to see why.

The teenager boasts electric pace to complement his magnetic touch and intelligent movement and while, at this early stage of his career, he lacks the composure which marked Henry out as one of the most fearsome strikers of his generation, there is every reason to believe he will mature into a modern great himself.

Mbappe showcased all that is good about his game with the run which earned France a 13th minute penalty in their World Cup last 16 match against Argentina in Kazan.

Marcos Rojo brought down Kylian Mbappe as he raced into the penalty area (Picture: Getty)The PSG forward received the ball 15 yards inside his own half, switched on the afterburners and surged away from three Argentinians, including the hapless veteran Javier Mascherano who could barely bring himself to muster a challenge.

As he approached the penalty area, Mbappe knocked the ball past Marcos Rojo leaving the Manchester United defender with little option but to haul his opponent to the floor, allowing Antoine Griezmann the opportunity to roll France into an early lead from the spot.

The astonishing turn of pace reminded former Liverpool stalwart Jamie Carragher of the moment Henry ruined him during a Premier League clash back in 2003.

Mbappe nearly repeated the trick nearly six minutes later when he latched onto Paul Pogba’s magnificent long pass and controlled the ball in an instant only for his run to be interrupted by Nicolas Tagliafico’s desperate challenge which earned the defender a yellow card.

The 25-year-old has impressed at Spurs since his £22 move from Bayer Leverkusen nearly three years ago, scoring 47 goals in 139 appearances for the club.

Jose Mourinho is in the market for a new attacking option with Anthony Martial pushing to leave United this summer, while Jurgen Klopp is also looking to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.

According to Sport1, United, Liverpool and Arsenal all have Son on their summer shortlist.

And the report claims that the South Korea international is open to leaving Tottenham this summer.

But Spurs hold a strong hand in negotiations as the midfielder still has two years remaining on his contract, and Sport1 claim that the club will demand at least €70 million (£62m) for the player.

Son is currently with South Korea’s squad at the World Cup and is preparing for his nation’s final game group game against Germany on Wednesday.

South Korea still have a slim chance of reaching the last-16 after losing their matches against Sweden and Mexico but they require a victory over Germany.

Earlier this year, reports claimed that Tottenham were ready to offer Son a new contract and an improvement on his current £60,000-a-week deal.

Arsenal are hoping to get their transfer business done as quickly as possible as Unai Emery prepares for his first pre-season as head coach.

Forsberg’s declaration may tempt the Premier League duo to adjust their transfer plans, but it is unlikely any talks will take place before Sweden’s participation in the World Cup is over.
