Egyptian forward Salah has taken the Premier League by storm this season, scoring 24 goals in 27 games following his summer arrival from Roma.
But the 25-year-old former Chelsea flop was kept quiet by United over the weekend, mustering just one shot on David De Gea’s goal as Liverpool were beaten 2-1.
Jose Mourinho singled out Young as a key component in the victory and the 32-year-old full-back has responded to claims he ‘pocketed’ Salah at the Theatre of Dreams.
In a social media post, Young posted a picture of himself training, with the caption: ‘Stop asking me! He’s not in my pocket, I swear he’s not.’

Mourinho’s United beat Liverpool 2-1 thanks to a first-half brace from Marcus Rashford. Speaking after the win, which saw his side move into second in the Premier League, Mourinho praised Young’s ‘brilliant’ display.
He said: ‘Everybody did a job, you mention Young, I’d mention the kid Scot because of his age, because of his first derby.
‘Everybody did a good job but you are right Ashley against Salah, we prepared the game very well, Ashley has great experience.
‘I think Liverpool in the second half were also playing a lot through the centre, allowed us to close more people in the inside, more people were close to each other, but Ashley was brilliant, yes.’
